Diwali / Deepawali is one of India’s largest festivals. Diwali means the lines of light lamp. It is a festival of lights and every Indian celebrates it with joy. During this festival, people expose their homes and shops. They worship Lord Ganesha for wealth and knowledge for good welfare and prosperity and Goddess Lakshmi. It is celebrated with 14 years of exile to mark Lord Rama’s return and his victory over Demon Ravana. In many parts of India, Diwali is celebrated for five consecutive days and it is one of the most popular festivals of India. Hindus consider it as a celebration of life and use this opportunity to strengthen family and relationships. In some parts of India, it marks the beginning of the new year. It is celebrated not only in India but also abroad. During Diwali, Lord God worshiped Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi.
